Kenji Kamiyama (上山 健二 Kamiyama Kenji?)' is a Japanese businessman. He was CEO of Gaba Corporation,[1] but stepped down on December 5 2011.[2]

Education

Kamiyama received a bachelor's degree in economics from Tokyo University in March 1988. He received his master’s degree in business from the University of Michigan in May 1994.[3]

Career

Kamiyama was president and representative director of Nagasakiya and another company that are now under the name Carcha Corporation Limited. He also worked for a bank which is now called Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation.

He joined Gaba in October 2008 as Chief Operating Officer and Senior Managing Executive Officer. He became President, Representative Director and CEO on March 26 2009.[4]

After Kamiyama took charge of Gaba, there was a lot of cost-cutting activity, which generated some discontent from Gaba's staff.[5]

After Gaba was sold by Daiwa Securities to Nichii Gakkan Kamiyama stepped down from his roles as Chief Executive Officer, President, and Representative Director on December 5 2011.[6] He was succeeded by Bruce Anderson.[7]
